Patty is a virtue

I'm easily impressed with things that take time.  My wife, Patty is shown here in front of a tree at Mount Vernon, Virginia (home of the First U. S. President) that was likely planted by General Washington.

We too are trying to plant things that last.  At the time of this picture, we have been married 22+ years.  Two thumbs up to that!

Purpose

Today's thumbs up goes to my children - the two "D"s. The picture illustrates their enthusiasm for a trip to Disneyland as teenagers who are doomed to be seen with parents.... oh well......

Origins

In a blatant "borrowing" of the famous phrase "two thumbs up" as established by movie reviewers Siskel and Ebert, this is an initial attempt to blog some of the most positive things experienced in my life. It has no overriding theme but is rather an attempt to illustrate with commentary and visual aid things which bring me joy.

(Here is a descriptor of the origins of the "two thumbs up" signal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumbs_signal )
